Hi guys,
I enjoyed the show as usual, but wanted to add something about ‘Gate’. I don’t think it was a good story, but thought the source of conflict in the modern world were all the nations wanting the resources of the ‘medieval’ world. If Japan retains control of other realm it’s economic troubles are over and it will probably become the globally dominant economic and thus political power in our world. The other nations want to capture the emissaries from ‘the Special Region’, so they have some leverage to prevent this and gain access themselves. There’s a [faint] possibility the second season may address this and Itami may have to decide between honour and wealth in our world or preventing a whole other world from being devoured by our greed.
