The L33t Str33t Boys

http://www.leetstreetboys.com/ If an anime otaku were to begin a band honoring their fandom it'd likely end up being something like the L33t Str33t Boys. Their debut song in 2007 at Connecticon, "Yuri The Only One" whose lyrics and anime style music video is simply about as awesome as it sounds. The band "...centers around a prep school punk singer (Matt), a metrosexual elf guitarist (Justin), a lesbian healer bassist (Rose) and a fire breathing dragon drummer (D-Dos)." With the name being a spoof on "The Backstreet Boys" you already know these guys are going to rock. In February of this year they released their self titled "LeetStreet Boys" debut album and is currently performing around the North American Convention Circuit. You can download their songs off iTunes, and learn more about them and read their webcomics at their website.

Nerd Nexus

http://www.nerdnexus.com/Nothing is better than hearing it from the creator of the Nerd Nexus Website: "Face it, everyone in the world is nerdy about at least one thing (I’m even looking at you jocks, if you can absorb information like Ken Griffey Jr.’s batting average during night games being played in open air stadiums during the second game of a three game series...then yes, you are a nerd). So now that we agree that we are all nerds, welcome to nerd nexus, where your borderline psychotic obsessions with even the most inane things are entirely acceptable. Television, movies, videogames, music, Sci Fi, anime, books, comedy...we know you like these things, (to an insane degree) so do we, so much so that we’ll be dropping some mad science (or maybe just posting some articles) about all things in the nerd universe."
