I really want to try making a AMV, I think I could do a good job <=o But I am afraid of using copyrighted music, especially if I was gonna be putting it on YouTube, cause, YouTube can be mean ;_;
I really want to get started on one, but before I do, I want to know has anyone else actually gotten a copyright strike from YouTube for posting AMV's before? Or does it just get tagged?
I want to make one!

All YouTube does is mute the audio on whatever video has the music infringement and send you notice that they have done so. I think I've had two or three videos muted so far.

If your so freaked out about the copyright thing, find songs that are under creative license. I'm pretty sure your aware of Jonathan Coulton and the AMV code monkey.
Though you should keep an eye on the crazy bills just in case. If you follow tech that usually would have tons of political crap attached to it; you know that the music and movie industry put tons of money in lobbying in their favor while there are fewer funds on the other end. But there is always the Freedom of speech argument that usually would work. Give or take. Money talks unfortunately, and that is the power of capitalism for you.

dude, there are like... 50? amv on youtube, i think your okay. the owrst they can do is mute it, or ban you. then just make a new account. its the circle of the internet LIIIIIFFFFFEEEE. AND IT RULES US ALLLLLLLLLLL. (lol reference)
