Your first manga you ever purchased.

I've come a long way since, but my first was the .Hack//Legend of the Twilight series. It's still one of my favourites.

first manga for me was either negima and rosario+vampire bough both i think i ended up reading negima first

I don't remember the first Manga I ever purchased, but I do remember the first all Japanese one. It was a Naruto one. I got it from this cool anime/manga store in New York during Christmas break, years ago.

I'm not exactly sure but it may have been the first issue of the US Shonen Jump, which I then subscribed to for 2 years.
It maybe have also been Angel Sanctuary or Rave Master...

I bought two mangas at the same time as my first. Vol. 1 of Death Note and Vol. 1 of Hayate the Combat Butler. They're somewhere today, no longer in my posession.

The first ever manga I bought was a ani-manga of one of the DBZ movies in like 1996. It was in Japanese, so I could look at he pictures but had no idea what anyone was saying.

The first manga in English that I can recall buying was Sakura #1 back when Tokyopop was still MIXX and everything was released in US comic book size and flipped. OR it may have been "Electric Tales of Pikachu" #1, I honestly don't recall.

I guess like Mitsugi is always saying: "old man brain"...

The first manga I bought was Mobile Suit Gundam: Lost War Chronicles because I was buying a bunch of little Gundam figures at the time and playing Battletech with my Roleplaying group. The first series I started buying was Monster, but I had too hard of a time getting some of the issues. That transitioned into 20th Century Boys which I'm still buying. I am caught up with what has been released in the US at 21 volumes and it has been one of the best stories I have ever read. I also bought all three of the live action movies, but I have not watched the last one for fear of spoilers.

I have read numerous manga online before my first legit purchase, and this purchase was on a pure whim of the moment, I read a few pages, liked the art and the characters and decided f*#^@ it and bought it, to this day I would say one of my best purchases ever.

Akira when it was first released in single issues by dark horse. Then it just stopped around issue 40. Took me another 10 years or so to find out how it ended. OMG was it worth the wait.
