So I really want to cosplay this year for FSC but I can never figure out a cosplay. See I'm 5'6 and a bit overweight so I can never think of a good character to cosplay because of the fact that I'm short, hairy and chubby. Only thing I can think of is a hobbit or Wolverine (comic book version) and no thank you to either lol. So does anyone have any suggestions or do you think it wouldn't really matter if I attempted a Shizuo(DRRR) cosplay or a Holland(Eureka 7) cosplay.

There's the Bear from Persona, he's short and your figure is irrelevant in a full body enclosure but the costume would be tonnes of work, you'd have to speak in an annoying tone and noone likes the bear anyways.

Mecha-cosplay? Again, lots of work.

Sonic the Hedgehog type character? They are all defined as being short.

Komatsu, the sidekick from Toriko? He's got a well defined and feasible costume as well as not being terribly tall or buff.

Honestly, as long as you don't cosplay a character who is defined as being tall and lithe, your physique shouldn't be an issue.
Everything that existed before I did was irrelevant, everything that exists after I die is lucky.

That's really the key. Adding to that though I'd say a character that also isn't defined as being really muscle'y either. Or at least is well known as being muscle'y. I think Wolverine would be a poor choice because EVERYONE knows what he should look like.

I'd say a character that has looser clothing, like someone from Inu Yasha always works well, depending on how heavy-set you really are. Robes are are great way to loose a few extra pounds. OR, on the flip side, you could do a character which embraces the heavy-set-ness. Do a pokemon like Snorlax, it's sure to get a few laughs. Or Yajirobi from DBZ. That's like a perfect one for someone who is a little heavy.

Than again, if you're not doing a man Faye... you really can't offend anyone THAT much.

LOL man Faye. Thanks Chiaki. You made me remember of his hairness. XD Hmmm...a 1024×768 Man Faye painting drawn by Chiaki. Tempting. lol

Anyways if you somewhat like Naruto, you can cosplay as Choji Akimichi. He's a pretty normal character, and not too much work to pull it off for both the outfit and personality. Though you have to shell out some serious dough for buying a couple dozen of buns. XD j/k
