Mine was either Naruto or Doraemon, probably Doraemon XD

I think it was a Chinese version, random volume of Dragon Ball. I picked it up on a whim from an old anime shop. Why they didn't have the Japanese print I don't know.

At the same time, I bought both Death Note vol. 1 and Hayate the Combat Butler vol. 1. I've bought plenty of manga since then, but never anymore of DN or Hayate.

I do own all the Black Lagoon mangas currently released by Viz.

I forgot to add fruits baskets and elemantal gelade.
Its a little embarrasaing becuz i bought the stereotypical manga that girls buy and i am a girl and i hate labels and lots of people came up to me asking if i read certian shojos because of this stereotype and i was and am a fan more of shounen. But anyway, kurohime and the other two were the first i owned.
I see alot of people got alot of the old stuff like dbz and evangalion, i actually dont see evangalion anymore, but they still sell dbz mangas.

They were at Borders for the longest time, but i see them at Barnes and Noble every once in a while. (Doesn't shock me that you can't find the Evangelion manga anywhere really anymore tho, i got those back in 2004, when the manga section in book stores were huge compared to nowadays =P)

Um....Mangas actually....I went on a spree and bought quite a bit when they were on sale at Books A Million back in 2006. Some were Samurai Deeper Kyo, Fruits Basket, Black Cat, and Claymore.

Case Closed volume 1! I totally got into the anime when it was airing an adult swim, so I just had to buy the manga when Viz released it.
