gun to my head irritation. my external hard drive drive fan is busted and smells like its burning. all but 3 shows are on there, which kills my anime watching time. currently getting a second copy or oreimo to watch during school tommorow
Went to BJJ class tonight. I think I've unofficially nicknamed my instructor as "The Cocktease", the result of his annoying ability to counter your attempts at the last second. The grin he wears when he does so doesn't help his case. I've also been unofficially nicknamed as "That Crazy Guy", some of the more veteran guys there recognized me from a few tournaments, and thus they remembered me as the one who didn't have a school to call home, the one who fought because he really enjoyed it.
Saturday was a fantabulous day. After 14 days straight of work, I finally got to sleep in ... by 30 minutes. But it was good reason to get up, I attended a group training session and figured out what I need to work on: muscle endurance. Calves specifically. My lungs can finally keep up with me (actually, I think they ended up carrying me further). Great chat with the peeps after the session with a bit of breakfast, and then back home to hang with friends who were over. Got my tan on for a few hours and then after over a month popped in a video game.
I haven't had a Saturday that good since February.
Now, back for another 14-day work week starting Monday.
I woke up at five, watched the news until six and went back to sleep. Woke up 4 hours later and had breakfast with my parents at the local cafe in lack of a better word. I then went to the repair shop and spent most of my day helping my dad attempt to fix the A/C in his Freightliner just for us to fail. I then got home around 8 and tried to wash the grease off my skin. Around 9 I finally ate dinner and got home at 11. I spent the last hour of my day playing blackjack. Back to you CanadaMan.
-Saturday: Earned my third stripe in BJJ. Rolled the black belt and was a lot more confident this time compared to my first time. Almost managed to Prototype him.
-Sunday: Rolled at our PoCo gym with a lot of colour belts. Hard rolling all class, but I managed to not get crushed instantly. I attribute that all to my new stripe.
-Monday: Sparred a dude who fights at Featherweight (145lbs). He's also a southpaw. Most of his boxing was good, but I forgot about an overhand left (instead of right, were he orthodox) and ended up eating it instead. Nose all but exploded in a very gobby red rain.
-Tuesday: Worked the motherf***ing heavy bag like you wouldn't believe, and helped convince three people to sign up for BJJ.
-Wednesday: Finally managed to attend wrestling for the first time in about 6 months. Annoyingly, almost had the attempt to break my nose on Monday finished off. It's rather unnerving when you hear cartilage being destroyed.
-Thursday: Helped teach beginners the subtle art of hip movement in BJJ. Extended a week-long stalemate by another day.
-Friday: Rest. Six days of training in a row deserves a rest, when you're going for a minimum of 2.5 hours per day after working a nice warehouse job.
Been the best day ever. First day in six weeks I have been able to just sit on my arse and do nothing, not having a drill instructor yelling in me face has just been the cherry on the cake.
