This is the best gift I can give you for now, the gift without form called Memory. I have no money, I cannot buy you much with form. Even so, Memory will last Forever!

...I believe that it will.

My first manga was Naruto #1. I had a lot of shonen jumps and I was curious about what happened first.

The first manga I bought was Orphen, in it's entirety. Great manga, one of my treasures.

Watched the series on the Anime Network, never got to the manga, nevertheless it was truly a great experience. The writing for the Cleo v Orphen arguments is simply superb and simply a joy to watch/listen to. Magick was also one of the most origional wuss characters I've ever seen. That guy got more tail than the main character, who was the contrived bad-ass.

While my name, avatar, and signature express my love for Orphen, I'll be the first to agree that the second season wasn't that great. There were a few good episodes, but most of them were pointless. The story would have been better off as a short OVA

What's even worse is the game for the PS2, which insulted me as a fan of the show, and as a gamer. There is also a 2nd manga, Orphen MAX which never made it over here. It's a 2 volume story that stands on it's own, and (unfortunately) doesn't continue the hanging plot left at the end of the original manga.

I really wish the novels got fan translated, but at least we got the anime.

Ha! I have that game!

I loved the series overall and felt for it as I do the slayers series, the characters were memorable and fun, I didn't care of plot too much as long as they got some development and argued a lot along the way.

Favourite scenes of all time:

1. Cleo and Orphen wake up in the bed together, the argument that follows. "Huh? Is this too much noise for you, HUH?!" -died laughing.

2. The Orphen clones! Magick throws a coin and Orphen a actually fights them for the coins instead of running away. R-O-F-L! Xd

I did enjoy a lot of the comedy of the second season, but I missed the depth that the first had. It's one of those things that I enjoy, despite knowing that objectively it isn't that great. The plot got put on the back burner... but then again Hartia got a hilarious new sidekick. I wouldn't tell people to avoid the second season like I would the game, but I would definitely warn them that it's not quite up to par plot wise.

The first manga I bought was Azumanga Daioh. It was very similar to comic strips in the newspaper, so very easy to read :D
