The first time I had sex was in High School, age 16, with my boyfriend of then 2 years. I've no regrets about it and look back rather fondly on our time together. We broke up when I went to college, but are friends now. We have not had any sex since breaking up.

I did have a boyfriend in college and I did have sex with him. But that's the extent of my wild sex life. As some of you have said, it's just not very important. Everyone makes it out to be a lot more than it is. I always just thought I would do it when it felt right, and with someone I cared about, and I did. As a result I've no regrets. Since then I've not been a prude but I didn't want to be a slut either, so unless I was in a committed relationship with someone I wouldn't be in bed doing the horizontal tango with them.

Unlike you, the ones I have close relationships are the ones I maintain friendship level with. They become more like family than lovers. And less attached I am to a person I like, the more sexually attracted I'm to that person. Yeeah. I'm weird like that.

My last girlfriend asked me out. The situation we were in did play a part in it, but only a part. She's a Spanish teacher now, but at the time we dated, she was still in University studying. The option to study abroad in Mexico to further enhance her Spanish skills came up, so she took it. I spent many a work-shift conversing with coworkers for their opinions on dating an awesome girl for six or seven weeks before she left the country for six months.
In the end we dated (obviously), and it was wonderful, but knowing that the relationship was essentially doomed to fail was like a rash on my a** I tried not to think about.

And for the record, I may hold the title of "Oldest Virgin" on the board, being that I AM 27, and will turn 28 in 2012. I'm not particularly ashamed, seeing as many people I know are aware of this. I'd probably be more bothered about it if I kept it secret.
It's not really by choice, for the last few years every girl I'm interested in is either dating someone long-term, engaged, married or just waaaaay too far away. And considering I do a 2400 kilometre round-trip every year, "too far away" for me is 5000-odd km or more.
