HELP! =P

Postby macross_maniac » Sun Jun 12, 2011 7:13 pm

So yes, i myself have attempted to create my own original manga before, and would really like to try again, with all seriousness. However, I am not 110% sure where to start. Anyone with some experience on this subject, please help me :( Any tips for someone who has no idea what they're doing?

I'm having some issues with the writing process. I have a story already, but i'm not sure what the next step would be. I've heard people say that you write a manuscript for the dialogue next, but i'm not 110% sure how to do that effectively.

I would write as if you were writing a story and then draw to what you've written.

You mean like storyboarding, or just drawing the panels as i write it?

I would say write the entire story and then create and draw the panels.

To elaborate on CM's post, I think it really depends on the writer himself. Effectiveness will be decided on how quickly you can dictate matters in a form that readers can understand.

For example:

Writer A: Builds over-arching plot; Guy A kills Guy B, creates smaller stories behind Guy A / Guy B, Writes dialogue based on these stories then builds a narrative off of the dialogue.

Writer B: Comes up with Single Idea, War, Creates random character and storyboards events, going back and tieing them together.

Writer C: Creates character and builds a background story for him, creates world and supporting characters to build a story that would be compelling based off of him.

There are different methods, however if you are stuck on a specific part like: storyboarding, character development, ect: to get to the next step: The idea that helps me is basically ask what do I need to do next to make this story more detailed and comprehendable? More Dialogue, context explanation, ect.
