Sorry dawg, i was just joking. but really, a lot of people i talk to on the internet just happen to be atheist so... this joke was funny to me.

I think what people fail to realize, and this happens with a number of topics, is that there are good people and bad people in the world. It seems like a "duh" statement but I don't think people really understand that.

There are murderers who HAPPEN to also be "Christian."
There are extremists who HAPPEN to be "Muslim."
There are people who are rapists who HAPPEN to watch anime.
There are violent teens who HAPPEN to play video games.

The list goes on, and on, and on. The fact is there are good and bad people in every walk of life. Its just a matter of society's current opinions on something and how the media spins things with how that "badness" gets blamed. Saying a person is just unstable is not as satisfying (for the masses) than placing the blame on a whole religion or way of life. By doing that people can categorize things, what makes us comfortable as humans...

I believe most religions say the same thing - Be a good person, don't do things that hurt others, act nicely, etc. I think the fact is people take things way too literally sometimes, or they read into it in a way that can support their destructive tendency that already exists outside of the religion.

Even if I wasn't very religious (which really I'm not) I wouldn't condone the tactless disrespect of anyones beliefs or culture.

I believe that, most people have misconceptions about religions because of the stereotypes and prejudice with them.
They fail to realize that "one" does not mean "all".
Alot of people don't try to understand a religion either, they just go by what the world says.

You think that the only way to get into a heaven is to get dipped in water by some human, then go to some man made building and ask nobody in particular to forgive your sins, and that someone who lives the life of a saint otherwise would still be barred?

Why would I, or any other deity, give two fucks about what you do in this life, considering that a persons behaviours here are built by their environment? Why would I bar any person, regardless of their actions, from the holy land that I have made, simply because they did not behave as I wanted them Toni the environment I forced them into.
