Best Anime Endings

I would say Kuttsukiboshi OVA – 02 has one was the most beautiful endings. The background reminds me of the EDs of Outlaw Star.

My thoughts on the best would be "Metropolis". The Ray Charles song is awesome, plus there's a lot of irony in the fact that it's a love song about people together while the building crumbles apart around the protagonists.

Just classic in many ways!!

I never would've thought that a song made by Ray Charles would fit so freaking well in an anime movie. The use of the song over the tragic imagery is nothing shy of brilliant. It touched me on many different levels, and to date, I can't hear that song without seeing that scene in my head.

My favorite ending of an anime has got to be the ending to "Planetes":

[spoiler="Planetes"]...when Ai and Hachimaki are playing Shiritori floating out in space. They're going along, playing when Ai says a word that ends in "Ke". Hachi, who had his back turned the whole time, spins around and says "Kekkon Shiyou. Marry me." Ai is taken back for a second but says "Un" or "yes". Hachi then says "Alright! You lose. I win." And don't get me started with the ending montage. A close runner-up would have to be the end of "Aria: The Origination". I can honestly say this is one of the few endings that brought me close to tears.

[spoiler="Aria: The Origination"]The whole conversation between Akari and Alicia inside Aria Company was very touching. Alicia's confession to Akari about the reason behind Akari's delayed promotion exam was both a shock to me yet it was very emotional. And don't get me started with the retirement ceremony. Seeing Alicia officially turn over her gondola to Akari, then going on dock and bowing in deep respect was almost too much for me to take. It was truly a beautiful ending. And of course, seeing Ai-Chan in the Aria Company undine uniform was a squee moment for me.[/spoiler]

Personally I had a get the f*#^@ out of here moment with the ending of Code Geass, I highly enjoyed that entire show, ending and all.

Katanagatari. Amazing ending. My favorite Anime Ending of all time, unless something else comes by in the future.

Solty Rei had a really good ending. As did Sengoku Basara. Both let you know that their world's would continue, even if the stories were told.

Code Geass' ending has a special place in my heart. As does Clannad's.

I really liked Angel Beats ending. The entire graduation scene was masterfully done.

Not sure if they count, since they were a game first, but Tales of the Abyss and Valkyria Chronicles have amazing endings.

Tears to Tiara was great, and so was Tiger and Bunny, for more recent shows.

Mecha wise, G-Gundam, 00 Season 1's ending was fantastic, and Season 2's wasn't much worse.

Anyway, that's all for now. There's plenty more, but I can't think of them right now. Blasted brain.

I loved Code Geass to bits. I was crying for about 45 minutes. T.T
Death Note I can't say I liked very much. It happened a bit too fast, but In a way I feel I should give in and say I liked it. I couldn't stop thinking about the possibilities of what could've happened, what should've, and how it would. But I feel just because it's debatable, it deserves to be on my list.
Clannad...Oh gosh. I took a two week hiatus in the middle of After Story after [spoiler=]Nagisa died.[/spoiler] But i decided, well, better finish it. It can't get ANY worse. But....it did. *bawls* I can't even explain my feelings for it. It was so... urggh! I loved it too much. It has to be in my top 3.
And I am anticipating Waiting In The Summer. I feel it's ending will be phenomenal. But I could always be wrong...

well these arent phenoinal and all but the ending to Blood+ was satisfying for me ummm I loved the end to Sakamichi no Apollon adn Another ws pretty good too along with Kuuchuu Buranko too. Haha ok that one wasnt greaaat but i loved it personally!

[spoiler=]It was great to see Yurika again, I must admit. Though it looks like she aged WAY more than 8 years...

The final session between Sen and Kaoru was especially awesome. I seriously would love to have that performance ripped to an MP3 so I could listen to it whenever I wanted!

I also love the way Sentaro and Kaoru ran off like they were young boys again. I thought that was a very fitting touch to the end of the series--to show that even though a whole lot of time passed between their last meeting, they were still able to pick up their friendship where it left off like nothing happened. Ri-Chan looked awesome with her hair cut short.[/spoiler]

I have high hopes that "Mysterious Girlfriend X" ends on a higher note...though I hate to see it end in the first place.

Hell Girl Season 1. I think the ending to that season should have been the ending to the series but that is just my opinion. I also enjoyed the ending to FLCL. If you haven't seen it. Then i am not going to spoil a single thing for you. Both FLCL and Hell Girl Season 1 have endings that should not be spoiled there just that awesome.
