Space Brothers episode 8

[spoiler=]Well, I was shocked about how Mutta actually got selected. Maybe shocked isn't the correct word, more like it was a possibility that was not oblivious. I am now starting to like his development of how he thinks of his luck all his life now changing. Interesting that the next episode will have something about Hibito's envelope he tried to hide, so the story is going to the next arc, which I find weird given it is not on episode 12 and making another season.[/spoiler]

Nonspoiler impression: I starting to like the progress of episode 7 and 8 making a drastic change to Mutta was better than the previous episodes of his constant reminder to us about his bad luck.

A bit off-topic about the anime club in general: It is hard to keep up with some of the anime this season since there are more enjoyable anime than other previous seasons ago (I can't recall which season but somewhere around 2010 was where I didn't see any anime and watched some older anime that had came out years ago such as Trigun and Cowboy Bebop). Also, I give credit that Yupa started something different about how the forum members communicate with each other with the current anime being aired this season.

This idea turned out to be just another anime forum thread, so in the future I'll probably just make a normal thread for the anime I'd like to discuss. However, I might experiment further with anime movies or older shows.

It's been a while since I posted here. I've been very busy last week with prepairing for an upcoming anime con (I had a great time there). So this week I'm still catching up on some shows, I haven't seen the latest Space Bros and Jormungand yet.

Space Bros episode 8
[spoiler=]Someone may need to explain this to me, but would catching a robber really make it to a talkshow on national television in your country? I find it a bit unrealistic to see how much attention the two Japanese guys get in the US, especially Hibito.
Here in the Netherlands the only time an astronaut is giving interviews on talkshows and is on the news is when he's from the Netherlands as well (we've only had two astronauts so far). I'm sure our astronauts don't get any attention in the US and I totally understand that, so I don't buy it when all those people are interested in Hibito and Mutta.

Again, this episode dragged a little, but Mutta keeps this show in my favorite list. So he's finally through to the next round, I'm hoping to see more interesting things from in the next exams and maybe some development with Serika?[/spoiler]

Jormungand episode 7
[spoiler=]Some shows are really easy to follow on a weekly basis. And some are best just watched in a few days. I feel Jormungand is one of those, because I just can't remember most of what happened last week (I'm watching 18 weekly shows after all), which takes away a lot of the enjoyment. I did enjoy the fight in the snow, though they killed everyone again except one woman who swears to kill them one day. Why let her live? Also thought it was a bit silly that those men just stood up when the firing stopped.[/spoiler]

[spoiler=Yupa]I don't think catching a robber would make you into National News (maybe in the local news that's for sure) but being a brother of the first Japanese astronaut will certainly make him be there. That or it's just fiction leaking out of this pseudo-reality/slice of life anime.

I did felt it dragged a bit around where Mutto was retelling what happened in the incident. It may be the cliche' of telling of other peoples' perspective of what happened but with an actual purpose to grow the character a bit more.[/spoiler]

Huh...,it does sound a bit like a anime discussion but with two anime instead of just one. Well, this idea sure has made me see more anime than just myself watching them without giving a chance and I actually enjoy them.

Space Bros episode 9
[spoiler=]Another character driven episode in which all participants who go to the third round are having a party to celebrate. I wonder who those other people at the party were, maybe participants who were rejected? They didn't look like family or friends to me. We got to know from some what their intentions are of wanting to go into space, which was interesting.
Mutta gets reminded of the risks of being an astronaut by finding his brother's will. I can imagine it would be hard to write a will at such a young age.

Again, not much happened this episode. Will this show be 2-cour or even longer? It doesn't matter to me, I'll keep watching this untill it ends. I'm looking forward to seeing them continue with the exams.[/spoiler]
