Spring 2012 Discussion

Well I thought I'd just bring that last thing up, because after watching 30 shows from this season I can say at least half that I watched was total trash. But there are a few true gems out there. I think it's worth looking for them, rather than keep polishing the trash and hoping it will shine some day.

I have to agree you're very lucky this season, but I feel especially sorry for Kimiko who has to watch Upotte!!, Acchi Kocchi, Saki, Kimi to Boku 2. These shows are either very moe or very boring.
Chiaki does seem to have some decent shows as well, although Hiiro no Kakera... I don't think that is going to improve either.

I could easily name a few shows that unfortunately are with the 20% uncovered anime and are most likely going to be much better than the shows mentioned above. (Kimiko or Chiaki, drop me a pm if you're tired of the moe/harem shows.)
I like your idea to let the forum members make a list of 25 anime. However, before the season starts we know as much as you do. But at this point I have a fairly good idea on what's going to be worth watching. Maybe you could postpone it one week, so that we forum members with way too much time can take out the trash? :p

Watched another one today.

Acchi Kocchi - This one was about as boring to me as Medaka Box was. It felt like Lucky Star, except the characters weren't interesting, and the writing was even more stale.

Tsuritama - Not bad, but not amazing either. I might continue it, but it will probably be the first one I drop if I need to cut back.

kids on the Slope - Not much for me to say that hasn't been said. Great first episode.

Th eonly one I have yet to see is Jormungand (probably spelled that wrong), and I'll watch that with my roommate this week. Here's my list so far.

Excited for:

-Kore wa Zombie

Watching, but not super into

Finally had the chance to watch the first episode of Space Brothers. I was not into it as what other people have experienced. Note that the anime is in a genre that I don't usually step in.

They didn't mention it on the podcast (episode 126). They didn't mention Jormungand either, so it looks like they're missing out on two badass action shows.

You guys are killing me. Kron and Yupa you both are valuable members of our podcast community. I appreciate both of your contributions in different areas. At some point, you gotta realize that we live busy lives outside of the podcast.
I mean I'm watching 10 shows right now from new seasons. What else can I offer you? I added Lupin to my list, but I cannot guarantee I'll watch it. We are in a transitional period right now. I work 50 hours a week, Chiaki is graduating from grad school, Kimiko and Roukou are both graduating from college (aka we are smart lol). We are doing our best.

If either of you would like to write a blog post for one of these shows or something that is great.

Not saying that you got too much time, but just curious as to why none of you guys had Lupin III higher up on the ranking since you know, it's Lupin III. The pedigree itself should have be good enough to not miss out on it.

Jormungand - This one got really hyped up, but the first episode didn't really catch me. It was good, but it felt bland. Hopefully it was just to have an action packed first episode. If they start to go into the characters in the upcoming episodes more, I'll be happy.
