Hey there! Been listening to your show for this past half a year or so when I’m out working. Always a great listen. I just felt liking chiming in on the diversity discussion you had as I’ve got another take on it. I don’t see anything good coming out of dividing people by skin colour, heritage and/or sex and then ranking them on some oppression scale.
It’s incredibly generalizing and, like you mentioned in the show, will lead to scenarios where people are either employed/refused employment because of their sex or the colour of their skin. That’s not equality.
I’d rather see a push for unbiased meritocracy where whoever is the most competent/suitable gets the spot, regardless of chromosomal makeup or dermal melanin levels. People just need to drop this fixation on skin colour and the attitude that if white people adapt, interpret or adopt something from a foreign culture that it is therefore bad and wrong… because the person is light-skinned.
Get over the damned melanin already.
