Episode 189 – Mailbag Catch Up!

Download

We love all those mailbags you loyal listeners send us.  But sometimes, we get so zealous in our pursuit of knowledge of anime that our mailbag gets too heavy for us to carry!  So what do we do?  Unload it of course!  This show is dedicated to you, the listener, as we answer anything and everything you all have sent us over the past few weeks.

What is something that you see in an anime that automatically makes it

good to you?

hey addicts ,

where do you find new anime when its first put out?

Hi guys and gal, I’ll start off by saying you are awesome once again.

I’m going to spend this fall semester at an University in Osaka.

(It’ll be my first time going to Japan) So recently I started teaching

myself some Kansai-Ben so I won’t sound so stiff and so I’ll actually

be able to understand what the locals will be saying to me. Can you

guys name any memorable anime characters with distinct Kansai accents?

Guy Walks Into a Bar

What’s up gang? Myself and a few anime addicts have discovered some

thing really bizarre. On chapter 25 of Sword Art Online at 23 minutes

and 40 seconds (i believe) Kirito says some thing that the subtitles

didn’t pick up. The weird thing is that his voice was also removed. I

believe it’s the second to last thing he says until the credits roll.

I’m kinda hoping this might be an easter egg of sorts. What do you

guys and gal think?

Hello almighty Anime Addicts Anonymous hosts!

Your show helps me get through long and tedious days at work and made

me want to watch anime I had previously never thought I’d like (ex:

Cross Game!) so thank you for putting together such an awesome

podcast.

Here is my question to you:

Quick! A fire is spreading through your house and you only have time

to save 3 of your anime dvds/boxsets… which ones would you save and

why? (and they can’t all be Ghibli films) 🙂

I would love to watch the live show but unfortunately you record at 4

in the morning for me. Looking forward to the next episode!

Hello AAA Podcast, hope you having a nice night and all. So my friend

and I were wondering, are there still parts of Japan where they’re

still governed by cultural practises, if yes where? ; w;”.

I am currently saving up for a Tokyo vacation. I want to visit many of

the areas you guys highlighted in episode 180. However, I can not

speak Japanese. My question is, can a non-japanese speaker enjoy

places like Akubara or should I just stay on a resort or close by?

Hey Anime Addicts!

I have just launched a Kickstarter for an anime themed JRPG I am

creating called Soul Saga. I think your fans might be interested. It

actually has Todd Haberkorn voicing the main protagonist. Todd was the

voice behind Natsu (Fairy Tail), Ling Yao (Full Metal Alchemist), and

Sergeant Frog (Sergeant Frog).

I would be honored to guest on the show and talk about the game if you

would have me, but a simple mention would be great too!

You can find Soul Saga’s Kickstarter page here:

Thank you for your time!

Is the flip phone still popular in Japan? I am under the impression

that they are. If my assumption is true, are these phone simply

feature phones, or are they more sophisticated than they look?
